Engagement
Page engagements
The number of times people have engaged with your posts through reactions, comments, shares and more during the selected time period.
Average engagement rate
The average engagement rate per post by reach is calculated as the total engagement (reactions, comments, and shares) divided by the number of posts the page published. The result is then divided by the total reach, and all multiplied by 100.
Keep in mind:
Engagement – The sum of reactions, comments, and shares received for the posts published in the selected time period.
Average Engagement – The engagement of the posts (reactions, comments, and shares) divided by the number of posts published in the selected period.
ERR = ((Total engagements / posts) / reach) * 100
Average ERR = Total ERR / Total posts
Engagement rate by reach (ERR) is the most common way to calculate engagement with content. ERR measures the percentage of people who choose to interact with your content after seeing it. ERR should be calculated as average engagement rate to calculate the average rate across multiple posts.
