Add Tiktok as a source

Add Tiktok as a source and start collecting content for your Flows

Updated over a week ago

Once you've connected your TikTok account to Flowbox, you can start collecting content in two ways:

  • Username Source Type: Collect your own posted content.

  • Chrome Extension: Collect other creators' content via Chrome extension.

  • Add a post feature: Collect one specific post by parsing the URL.

Creating a TikTok Source

We highly recommend connecting a source to only one Flow, preferably your Masterflow, and then distributing the posts to other Flows to avoid duplicates.

  1. Navigate to 'Visual Marketing' > 'Flows,' select the desired Flow

  2. Click on 'Settings' in the bottom-left menu.

  3. Click 'Create'.

  4. Select 'TikTok' as the social media platform to fetch content from.

  5. Select the type of source (username or Chrome extension).

  6. By turning off the "Require Approval" button, all your content will be sent directly to the Approved tab in Flow. Ensure you only disable this if you have the rights from content creators for all the collected content

  7. Click 'Create'.

After adding a source, Flowbox will start collecting content from Tiktok and you will be able to start moderating it. Your own content will automatically appear in the selected Flow once you've added TikTok as a username source type.

You will also be able to collect other creators' content via Chrome extension or Add a post feature.

Once TikTok is added as a Username source, Flowbox will collect up to 200 historical posts and all new content from that point forward.

Important notes about content privacy

When using the Flowbox platform, it is crucial to ensure that you only collect content for which you have obtained the necessary rights. This means:

Obtain Explicit Permission: Only collect content if you have explicit permission from the user or if you already hold the rights to the content. Unauthorized collection of content can lead to serious legal consequences for your company, including potential copyright infringement claims.

Rights Request Compliance: Due to API restrictions imposed by the provider, Flowbox cannot automatically verify if you have obtained the rights to the content, unlike with other social media platforms. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that rights requests are properly handled and documented.

Tiktok terms and service: please refer to TikTok's terms of service and privacy policy if you have any concerns regarding the legality of your collected content.
