Keep unwanted posts out of your inbox by blocking users

Updated over a year ago

With the 'Blocked Users' feature in Flowbox, you can have more control over your inbox content. You can block specific users, and their posts will not show up in your Flow inboxes anymore. This helps you maintain a focused and spam-free inbox.

How to block users from the 'Blocked Users' menu

  1. Click on 'Visual Marketing'.

  2. Go to 'Blocked Users'.

  3. Select 'Add blocked user'.

  4. Enter the username of the user you want to block.

  5. Choose the platform the user belongs to (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest).

  6. Click 'Block'.

After blocking the user, Flowbox will no longer collect any new posts published by them in your account.

We are not able to verify that the username you enter is an existing user or the correct user. Therefore, it is extra important that you make sure that you type in the correct username.

How to block users from the post moderation modal

When a new post appears in your inbox from a user you wish to block for future content, you can efficiently block the user directly from the post moderation window.

  1. Navigate to the post moderation window of the post.

  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the post.

  3. Choose the "Block user" option to prevent future content from the user.

By using this option, not only will the user be added to your blocked users list, but the post will also be automatically rejected.

How to unblock a blocked user

To restart collecting posts from a previously blocked user, follow these steps:

  1. Go to 'Visual Marketing' in your Flowbox account.

  2. Click on 'Blocked Users'.

  3. Find the user you wish to unblock and click 'Unblock user'.

When you unblock the user, their new posts will be collected in your inbox. However, any older posts from this user, which were published while they were blocked, will not be collected.

Permission levels in the blocked users' section

  • Admin: Has full control, can change the blocked status, add users to the blocked list, and block/unblock users from the moderating post modal

  • Moderator: Can view blocked status and list of blocked users but cannot change the blocked status

Limitations on blocking users with Instagram hashtags

Due to Instagram's API limitations, Flowbox is unable to collect the username when a post is collected using an Instagram hashtag. Therefore, it is currently not possible to block users when the content is collected using a hashtag.

For Instagram content, user blocking is only applicable when they use your photo tag or @mention in their posts.
