Add TikTok as a source

Add Tiktok as a source and start collecting content for your Flows

Updated this week

TikTok source types

Once you've connected your TikTok account to Flowbox, you can start collecting content in the following ways:

  • Username Source Type: Collect your own posted content.

  • Chrome Extension: Collect other creators' content via Chrome extension.

  • Add a post feature: Collect one specific post by parsing the URL.

  • Mentions source type: Collect posts where your TikTok profile is mentioned.

Mentions source type is only available for TikTok business accounts. If you’re using a regular account, we highly recommend upgrading to a free business account and reconnecting it to Flowbox.

Adding TikTok as a source

In order to avoid duplicates in the system, we recommend only connecting a source to your Collection Flow, commonly named "Master Flow", and then distributing the posts to other Flows.

  1. Go to 'Visual Marketing' > 'Flows'.

  2. Click on "Sources" directly from the Flows page or use the top-right button within your Collection Flow.

  3. A popup box will open.

  4. Click "Add Source".

  5. Select "TikTok" or “TikTok Business” and your source type

  6. Add the value for that type of source.

  7. Optional: Toggle on 'Require approval' to collect directly on the "Approved" tab all the content from this source.

  8. Click "Add".

After adding TikTok as a source in Flowbox, content collection will begin right away, and you’ll be able to start moderating posts directly in your chosen Flow. However, It can take up to one hour after publishing to collect the content, as per Tiktok`s own policy.

In addition, you can expand your UGC by collecting content from other creators - either through the Flowbox Chrome extension or by adding individual posts via URL with the Add a post feature.

When TikTok is connected as a Username source, Flowbox will automatically import up to 200 of your historical posts, along with all new content published from that point onward.

Important notes about content privacy

When using the Flowbox platform, it is crucial to ensure that you only collect content for which you have obtained the necessary rights. This means:

Obtain Explicit Permission: Only collect content if you have explicit permission from the user or if you already hold the rights to the content. Unauthorized collection of content can lead to serious legal consequences for your company, including potential copyright infringement claims.

Rights Request Compliance: Due to API restrictions imposed by the provider, Flowbox cannot automatically verify if you have obtained the rights to the content, unlike with other social media platforms. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that rights requests are properly handled and documented.

Tiktok terms and service: please refer to TikTok's terms of service and privacy policy if you have any concerns regarding the legality of your collected content.
