Add YouTube as a source

Once you’ve connected your YouTube account to Flowbox, you can start collecting content in four ways:

  • Channel: Use the YouTube channel ID of a creator.
Note: The Channel ID can typically be found at the end of the channel's URL or navigate to YouTube, go to the Channel page, click "More," click “Share channel,” and select “Copy channel ID”.

  • Username: Collect content from a handle (@).
    Example: @getflowbox

  • Keyword: Collect content that includes a specified keyword.
    Example: Flowbox

  • Chrome Extension: Collect specific videos or shorts using our Chrome extension.

Creating a YouTube source

We highly recommend connecting a source to only one of your Flows, preferably your Masterflow, and then distributing the posts to other Flows to avoid duplicates.

  1. Navigate to 'Visual Marketing' > 'Flows,' select the desired Flow

  2. Click on 'Settings' in the bottom-left menu.

  3. Click 'Create'.

  4. Select 'YouTube' as the social media platform to fetch content from.

  5. Select the type of source (Channel, Username, Keyword, or Chrome extension).

  6. Turning off the "Require Approval" button will send all of your content directly to the Approved tab for the relevant Flow in our platform. Ensure you only disable this if you have media rights from content creators for all of the collected content.

  7. Click 'Create'.

After adding a source, Flowbox will start collecting content from YouTube and you will be able to start moderating it.

Additional information

If you see a notification that your YouTube connection is expiring, you will need to remove your YouTube source(s) and add them again. This is due to YouTube's API.
